Firestopping
Every penetration through a fire-rated wall or floor creates a potential path for fire and smoke. NL Fireproofing seals each one to a UL-listed or equivalent tested assembly — and produces a complete penetration register so nothing is left undocumented.
REQUEST A QUOTEHOW IT WORKS
Our team surveys all MEP drawings to identify penetrations, classifies each by substrate and pipe/duct/cable type, and selects the correct tested assembly. Products range from intumescent pipe collars and wrap strips to firestop mortar and sealants.
Every sealed penetration is photographed and logged in a numbered register, cross-referenced to the drawing. The completed register is delivered at handover alongside product data sheets and test-report references.
What standards govern firestopping under BNBC 2020?
BNBC 2020 Part 4 requires all penetrations through fire-rated walls and floors to be sealed to maintain the assembly’s fire resistance. We ensure all our firestopping installations adhere to these compartmentation requirements.
Are your firestopping systems ASTM E814 compliant?
Yes, our firestopping solutions utilize UL-listed assemblies tested in accordance with ASTM E814 (UL 1479), which is the standard test method for fire tests of penetration firestop systems.
